TSMC lowers full-year outlook on weak demand, chip surplus

Lucy Chen, vice president and senior semiconductor analyst at Isaiah Research, said the outlook for the semiconductor industry for the second half of this year remains unclear.
"The market's consensus is that the contract chipmaking sector's production utilization rate would bottom out at the end of this quarter," Chen said. "But whether we can see a gradual recovery from the second half of this year will depend on the inventory level, the demand and the actual product sales performance."
